The exterior of Chapultepec Castle features manicured European-style gardens and key historical monuments.
Located at 2,325 meters (7,628 feet) above sea level, the exterior grounds offer expansive views over the 680-hectare (1,680-acre) Chapultepec Park. The outdoor areas connect the imperial rooms with the museum galleries.
You will need about 35 minutes to walk through these outdoor sections. Keep in mind that food, drinks, and water bottles are strictly prohibited throughout the entire complex, including the gardens.

This watchtower marks the highest point of the castle. It was originally built for defense and later converted into an observatory. It provides 360-degree views of the surrounding park and city. Access inside the tower itself is sometimes restricted.
