How to get to Chapultepec Castle by Metro?
Ride Metro Line 1 (Pink) to Chapultepec station.
This route costs $5 MXN per ride. It is the most affordable and popular transit method. From downtown, expect a 20 to 30-minute trip to the station. Once you exit, follow the signs directly into the park gates.
Taking the Metrobús to the park
Ride Metrobús Line 7 to the Gandhi or Lieja stops.
This trip costs $6 MXN. It takes 20 to 30 minutes from the Paseo de la Reforma area. After getting off, you will walk a short distance through the forest to reach the base of the hill.

How difficult is the walk to the top?
The 1-kilometer (0.6-mile) walk is a steady uphill incline taking 15 to 20 minutes.
Chapultepec Castle sits at 2,325 meters (7,628 feet) above sea level. No public vehicles are permitted to drive up to the castle. The path is a paved ramp, but comfortable walking shoes with good grip are necessary. Wear layers, as the morning wind can be breezy on the exposed hilltop.

Where do I leave my bags before walking up?
Lockers are located at the base of the hill before you start the ascent.
Large bags, backpacks, luggage, and food are strictly prohibited inside the complex. Leave these items in the lockers below. Bring a small crossbody bag or purse to carry cash, your phone, and your ID. This saves you from walking back down if guards reject your bag at the top.

Comparing transit options
The Metro is best from downtown, while the Metrobús is faster from Reforma.
Both options drop you near the park gates. Your choice depends entirely on where your hotel or previous stop is located in the city.
